Tangled is a 2010 American computer animated fantasy musical film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. It is the 50th animated feature in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series. Featuring the stunning concept art behind the newest Disney masterpiece-from sketches and character designs to storyboards and color scripts – The Art of Tangled also gives readers an inside look at the film’s fascinating history, which began over sixty-five years ago with Walt Disney’s early explorations in the fairy tale.

The character illustrations are raw and expressive, making the book seem very dynamic and gives you a real walkthrough of how they came to be and reasons for them to be in the film. Glen Keane’s traditional pencil sketches are littered throughout the book to break up the digital images. The book itself draws you into this world with wonderful renditions of the environment, even the inside of the tower and the paintings that the character creates herself.

In terms of reading the beginning is a little long winded, a foreword, history of the tale and then pages that explore shapes all a bit unescessay, interesting but it could have been cut back to something shorter and the pages used for something else.

The quality of the book is brilliant, the images are bright and vibrant and well layed out.
