This is a tall tale about Torill Kove’s grandmother’s life in Oslo, Norway, during World War II. Sharp and whimsical, her story combines her grandmother’s tales with historical events and fantasy, showing how a cherished anecdote can come to acquire a mythical status.
Using clay animation, Pjotr Sapegin’s animated short, takes a true story and gives it a tongue-in-cheek treatment. An old man tells his granddaughter of his experiences during the Second World War in an effort to distract her while putting on her winter hat.
This movie is interesting because director Cordell Barker appeared in some “how it was made” videos about it. Happy passengers are having a great time on a crowded train, oblivious to the unknown fate that awaits them around the bend.

The Sand Castle is a 1977 stop motion animated short by Co Hoedeman. Winner of the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film at the 50th Academy Awards. Co Hoedeman’s short animated film is about the sandman and the creatures he sculpts out of sand.
Special Delivery won the Academy Award for Animated Short Film. Alice Phelps heads off to the gym, reminding her husband Ralph to shovel the snow from the porch. Ralph ignores her and then later finds that the mailman has slipped, broken his neck, and died on their snow and ice covered porch.
