From the look of this trailer Tangled (previously known as Rapunzel) is going to be a great movie. Shot in 3D by Walt Disney Animation Studios, it will be the 50th animated feature in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series.

Flowers and Trees – Walt Disney (1932)

Flowers and Trees was the first commercially released film to be produced in the full-color three-strip Technicolor process. Disney’s exclusive contract with Technicolor forced other animators such as Max Fleischer to use Technicolor’s inferior two-color process.

The Yankee Doodle Mouse – Tom and Jerry (1943)

This is the first of seven Tom and Jerry cartoons to receive an Academy Award. The short features Tom and Jerry chasing each other in a pseudo-warfare style, making numerous references to World War II technology such as jeeps and dive bombers.

Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom – Walt Disney (1953)

The first animated cartoon to be filmed and released in widescreen CinemaScope, Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom won the 1954 Academy Award for Best Short Subject (Cartoons). In 1994, it was voted #29 of the 50 Greatest Cartoons of all time by members of the animation field.
