The Street by Caroline Leaf (1976)

Canadian-American filmaker and animator Caroline Leaf mixed paint with glycerine to animate by painting directly on glass under the camera and manipulating the picture frame-by-frame. The film won two Genie Awards and was nominated for the Academy Award (Best Animated Short Film) in 1977.
